The Planning Inspectorate issues their Rule 8 letter

The Planning Inspectorate issues their Rule 8 letter Following the Preliminary Meeting on the 12th November 2013 at Lancaster Town Hall, The Planning Inspectorate have issued their Rule 8 letter, detailing the examination process and deadlines going forward for the development of the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm.

This letter provides further details regarding the examination timeline (a full copy of which can be found at Annex B of the Rule 8 letter), lists a number of written questions and corresponding deadlines from the Examining Authority regarding specific areas of investigation targeted to key stakeholders, and details the procedure for hearings and further discussions.

Key dates include:

Monday 16th December 2013 - Deadline for full Written Representations from registered parties, Statements of Common Ground and responses to the first round of Written Questions.
Monday 27th January 2014 - Date reserved for an Issue Specific Hearing on the DCO.
Tuesday 28th January 2014 - Date reserved for the Compulsory Acquisition Hearing if required.
Tuesday 18th March - Thursday 27th March (not including weekends) - time period reserved for further Hearings if required.
Tuesday 12th May 2014 - Deadline for the completion of the Examination.
